The pecan nuts with their contoured structure, crunchy texture and buttery flavour make for an interesting ingredient to include in a number of dishes. Equipment Needed

  1. Place pecans in the bottom of the unbaked pie shell. Set aside.
  2. Whisk together corn syrup and brown sugar.
  3. Add the melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Stir in eggs, being careful not to incorporate any air.
  5. Pour over the filling over the pecans in the unbaked pie crust. Bake for 10 minutes at 375.
  6. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees. Continue baking for an additional 55-60 minutes, until the pie is puffy and set.
  7. You may need to cover with foil for the last 20-25 minutes of baking!

How To Store

Once this pie is baked and cooled, you can easily store it in the fridge for 3-5 days. You can also freeze this pie whole or in slices! To reheat, just get out on the counter a few hours beforehand to allow it to come to room temperature. This pie is best served cold!

  1. Let the pie cool completely before serving!
  2. Cover the pie with tinfoil the last 20-25 minutes to keep the crust from over-browning.
  3. You can use homemade or store-bought pie crust.
  4. The pie will puff when done and will jiggle slightly.
